Synopsis

In the aftermath of the Great War, England is a nation struggling to heal its wounds. Amidst the shattered lives and shattered dreams, private investigator Maisie Dobbs emerges as a beacon of hope, seeking justice for those who have been forgotten or silenced.

When Maisie is hired to investigate the disappearance of a young woman from a prestigious finishing school, she finds herself entangled in a web of secrets, lies, and treachery. As she follows the trail, she uncovers a world of espionage, international intrigue, and a conspiracy that threatens to tear England apart.

With the help of her loyal companion, Billy Beale, Maisie navigates the dangerous streets of London and the treacherous political landscape of the post-war era. Along the way, she encounters an array of enigmatic characters, from war-weary veterans to enigmatic spies.

As Maisie digs deeper into the case, she discovers that the fate of her missing client is intertwined with the fate of the nation itself. The lines between friend and foe blur, and Maisie must use all her skills and courage to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrators to justice.
